Frequently Asked Questions

Why can't I just order online?

Honestly, we are little bit old school, we believe this type of high value accessory is simply too important to get wrong.  Your personalised Tag, cast in precious metal will go through multiple manual processes, many sets of skilled hands, to get it right first time, every time.  Also remember these pieces are not made in someone's garage or home workshop, they are not 3D printed, these tags are cast at temperatures exceeding 2000 degrees centigrade.

How long will it take to get my Tags?

Typically from signing off your design and receiving payment we aim to have your tags with you within two weeks. It depends a little on the complexity of the design and finish but we will do what we can to make sure you have your order by a specific date wherever we can.  We do see some peaks in demand and pre-Christmas is an obvious one so we will limit the orders we accept to ensure secure on-time delivery for those we have committed to.

How can I see images of Tags you have made?

A Tag is personal and we will never display a Tag without the approval of the buyer.  We have replicated images that you can download and use as inspiration for your design. Design Gallery

I'm interested in purchasing but I'd like a little more clarity on pricing?

Whilst every Tag is unique the majority of the cost is dictated by the base metal selected.

  • We offer clear, fixed pricing for Sterling Silver and Gold Vermeil Tags
    • Hallmarked Sterling Silver Tags are £250 per pair*, including engraving, VAT & free UK delivery
    • Hallmarked Gold Vermeil Tags are £300 per pair*, including engraving, VAT & free UK delivery
      • * stone customisation at additional cost
  • For our premium 18ct Gold and Platinum tags prices start at £1200 per pair but we will price your tags based upon design. We will send you your bespoke quote that we will honour for a fixed 30 day period.

How do I get a Buy-Back quote?

Just drop us an email on the contact us page with the your details and confirm the base metal of the Tag, we keep records of everything we manufacture. We will then be able to give you a quote typically in under 24 hours. Upon receipt of the Tag we can electronically transfer your money again typically within 48 hours.

What is a Hallmark?

Until 1998, a Hallmark consisted of four compulsory marks.  Since 1998 the date letter has become optional but the other three symbols remain compulsory. The symbols give the following information:

  • who made the article
  • what is its guaranteed standard of fineness
  • the Assay Office at which the article was tested and marked
  • the year in which the article was tested and marked

What is the Assay Office?

There are four Assay Offices in the UK who are authorised to carry out the statutory duty of hallmarking precious metal items-London, Birmingham, Sheffield and Edinburgh. Birmingham Assay Office was founded in 1773 and has been protecting consumers for 250 years by testing and hallmarking items of gold, silver, platinum and palladium as required by the Hallmarking Act.  It is a centre of expert opinion in the field of precious metals, diamonds and gemstones and it is the global choice for assurance.
